Project Description:

This is a LEED® Certified Level project that involved a three-story new building as part of the Duke University Sanford Institute of Public Policy.  Included were a basement mechanical room and attic mechanical rooms. The building was comprised of high-tech classrooms and offices.  It featured meeting and lecture rooms with integrated audio/visual systems, and complex architectural features.

System WorCx Scope of Work:

 

System WorCx was hired as a third-party commissioning firm contracted directly to Duke University.  Commissioning included HVAC and controls, normal and emergency electrical power, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, security, telecommunications.  Michael Mantai was the commissioning authority performing all commissioning activities (design reviews, Cx plan, field testing, troubleshooting, etc.).
